Happy 37th to US!

We treated ourselves to a short get away to BC Canada. Just a couple of hours and over the border, we nestled into the quaint town of Nelson, Canada. You can see in the background - the Selkirk Mts. and the west arm of the Kootenay Lake. A little excursion was a trip to Ainsworth to visit a mountain hot spring area. The hot spring is a 150' horseshoe cave. It has rich mineral deposits and is toasty HOT! The waterfalls from the cave's roof deposit into a waist deep pool and creates a natural steam bath. Then they have a "man-made" ice plunge pool closeby. We did go "back and forth" - pretty exhilarating experience.

Here is something I have asked Dad to share - just a little "marital success" philosophy. We don't have a perfect history, but we both try. - - He voiced it while we were away and it meant a lot to me..... Hello everyone... I told Mom that I thought it was important to be the center of each other's universe. She asked me how we can know when we have arrived at that point. It doesn't happen automatically. I think it may take a life time of marriage to perfect, but we can improve as we move through life together. The key to knowing if you are in each other's center is to ask yourself "if what I am about to do would be approved by my spouse". If the answer is yes, it may be done. If the answer is no, then it ought not to be done. The closer we come to living by this simple test, the closer to we come to being in the center of each other's universe. I hope my children will adopt this principal in their marriage relationships.

ohhh, Im so glad you guys did that little trip! Youre an inspiration to us all in how you guys are still so in love. Its nice to see that. I know other couples your age that are definitely NOT so in love. At least they dont seem to have any fun together. I like what dad said, and i believe its true. Though sometimes I go against it. Like when Im cooking/baking something for Brian, and I sneak something healthy in there... I know he wouldnt approve if he knew about it. Perhaps that is an exception to the rule though, right? Since its for his ultimate good? Occasionally when he discovers my deception, I simply explain that it is just proof of my deep undying love for him. If I didnt love him, I wouldnt go through all the effort to keep to add quality and quantity to his life.
Anyways.... what Im really trying to say is... HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!
